Kip Protective tapes are ideal for masking plaster, stucco and building protection work both indoors and outdoors. They are made of PVC or PE backing, the properties of which influence those of the Protective tapes. PVC is resistant to water, acids, alkalis, alcohol, oil and petrol as well as salt water, which means it remains very dimensionally stable even when exposed to temperature. This means that straight edges can be masked. For weathered plastic substrates, an adhesion test should be carried out first. PE is milky white and elastic, insensitive to water, solvents, acids and alkalis. It remains dimensionally stable at high or very low temperatures. Thanks to the high-quality release liner, it is easy to unwind without warping. The tape is particularly suitable for plastic substrates. Kip also offers a premium quality variant: a smooth PVC protective tape made of resistant soft film with dimensional stability up to 40°C – ideal for the professional protection of smooth tapes such as wood (painted/primed), aluminum or glass. However, take care when using it on weathered PVC surfaces!
