Kip Protective tapes are ideal for masking plastering, stucco work and building protection work indoors and outdoors. They are made of PVC or PE backing. The properties of these materials also influence the properties of the protective tapes: PVC is resistant to water, acids, alkalis, alcohol, oil and petrol as well as salt water, is hardly affected by sunlight and is therefore very dimensionally stable. PE is milky white, elastic and insensitive to water, solvents, acids and alkalis as well as low temperatures. The tape retains its shape at both high and low temperatures. It has a high-quality release layer for easy unwinding without warping. Before using PVC tapes, a test application should be carried out on weathered plastic substrates. PE, on the other hand, is ideally suited for use on plastic substrates. Care should be taken when using on galvanized surfaces. It is not recommended for anodized aluminium. The tape also remains resistant up to 60°C.
