Sticking to sustainability

We are constantly working to improve our organization so that we can be a responsible company that benefits our employees, customers and trade partners alike. This philosophy also ensures that we take into account the social, ecological and economic effects of our business activities throughout our entire decision-making process. We are committed to offering products of the highest quality, developed and produced in a way that reflects our commitment as an environmentally and socially conscious organization.

Our path to a more sustainable future

Environmental protection

We comply with the strict requirements of the relevant chemical legislation to guarantee the protection of our employees, consumers and the environment. We avoid and minimize waste by carrying out annual energy savings assessments which monitor the consumption of water, natural gas and electricity, as well as emissions in relation to VOCs and greenhouse gases.

We are committed to responsible procurement of fibers/paper and sustainable management of the forests that produce these materials. As a result of this commitment, Kip® received FSC® certification FSC C154304 in 2020 and PEFC certification in 2021.

In addition to the company, some of our products are already FSC®-certified, such as our ULTRA SHARP® 3301 or SMOOTH TEC® 307, or our DIY tape, FrogTape® Multi-Surface. Our range also includes solvent-free products such as our SMOOTH TEC® 307. Our 331 masking paper consists of recycled paper, while our 397 MASKING-TEC® Cover is made of PEFC-certified paper. We are always working to expand our range of eco-friendly products and to produce our existing products as sustainably as possible.

Attachment and education

Treating all customers, suppliers and employees with fairness, dignity and respect is a key concern of ours, while ethics and sustainability in the supply chain play major roles in our daily business practices. We adopt a zero-tolerance stance towards human trafficking, slavery or forced labor of any kind and hold our global supply chain to the same standards. We comply with the applicable regional laws and provisions and demand the highest standards from our partners along the supply chain.

We are therefore also a registered member of SEDEX. Our commitment lies in maintaining the highest ethical standards of conduct among our employees, managers, directors and business partners. All of our employees are obligated to sign and comply with the Kip® Code of Conduct and Ethics. A sense of community, fairness and social responsibility make up our corporate culture and drive our day-to-day decisions.

Circular economy

Aside from our products themselves, we also pursue a sustainable packaging concept to keep packaging to a minimum and to only use as much as is actually needed. Together with our service providers, we develop solutions for returning waste to efficient productivity through recycling, preserving both valuable resources and the environment. As part of its annual study “resources SAVED by recycling”, the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT documents the benefit to the climate and environment. Every year this substantiates, down to the exact kilogram, how the consistent recycling of raw materials helps to protect the climate and resources.
