Kip Protective tapes are ideal for masking plastering, stucco work and building protection work both indoors and outdoors. They consist of a PVC or PE backing, which influences the properties of the tape. PVC is resistant to water, acids, alkalis, alcohol, oils, petrol and salt water. It remains dimensionally stable when exposed to sunlight and thus enables straight edges to be masked. However, a test application should be carried out beforehand on weathered plastic substrates. PE is milky white and very elastic. It is insensitive to water, solvents and acids. As a result, it retains its shape at both high and low temperatures. A high-quality release layer allows the tape to unroll easily without warping. It is ideally suited for plastic substrates. However, care should be taken with galvanized surfaces. Anodized aluminium is not suitable for PE Protective tapes. They can withstand temperatures from 40°C to 60°C.
