They are made of PVC or PE backing, the properties of which influence those of the tapes. PVC is resistant to water, acids, alkalis, alcohol, oil, petrol and salt water. It is also very dimensionally stable under the influence of temperature. PE, on the other hand, is milky white, naturally elastic, insensitive to water, solvents, acids and alkalis as well as high and very low temperatures. It has a high-quality release layer for easy unwinding without warping. This also makes it possible to mask straight edges. Test bonding is strongly recommended before use on weathered plastic substrates. The premium product Kip Duo Tapes consists of a soft PVC film with high adhesive strength and adhesion properties tailored to painters, plasterers, etc. However, care should be taken when using it on weathered PVC substrates.
